Mathieu Dorion was born and raised in a French/English bilingual environment in Montreal, Canada.

After studying German, Spanish, Latin, ethics and religious studies at the University of Quebec in Montreal, he decided to move full time to Costa Rica in 2009.

In Costa Rica, Mathieu worked with Blue Water Properties of Costa and Grande Real Estate. While working with Facio y Cañas, Mathieu specialized in helping international clients understanding and operating in the Costa Rican legal system, giving legal representation and counsel on matters such as property sale and purchase agreement, letter of intent, escrow, due diligence and subsequent reports, closings, banking system, immigration, tax imposition regimes, company incorporation, title fraud protection/litigation, foreign boat/vehicle importation and registration, Municipal law, permitting and construction process, wills, probate, asset management, HOA laws and more.

He was then accepted and currently completing a master’s in criminal law at the prestigious University of Costa Rica (UCR).
